As NYSEG continues to upgrade our infrastructure, we have been advised there will be a few outages as they switch us from old to new.

Please bear in mind, the following schedule is subject to last minute changes:

  • Clusters 4, 5, 6: on Wednesday 9/20 there will be a brief outage
  • Cluster 3: on Thursday 9/21 or Friday 9/22, there will be a brief outage
  • ALL OF RRVA will experience a 2-3 hour outage on Monday 9/25

If NYSEG shares any additional information on scheduled outages, it will be communicated here.

Introducing RSS – Really Simple Syndication

Question from a neighbor: “why should we have to look for info or updates?”

Answer: We have implemented RSS on the RRVA web site. You can subscribe to the feed using any standard email client (i.e.: Outlook or Thunderbird) or any number of RSS clients in the Apple and Android app stores. The subscription URL on the RRVA web site is: https://www.roxburyrunvillage.com/feed

This will allow you to see updates to the RRVA news page as easily as checking email.

The pool is closing for the season

With overnight lows in the 40s, and with our pool certification having expired on September 12th, our pool season has come to an end.

September’s Baccalaureate
A combination is
Of Crickets – Crows – and Retrospects
And a dissembling Breeze
That hints without assuming –
An Innuendo sear
That makes the Heart put up its Fun
And turn Philosopher.

NYSEG Update (September 15, 2023)

There has been a communication update from NYSEG: in the event our team is needed for repairs due to Hurricane Lee, they will convene in Liberty, NY tomorrow and anticipate a week-long stay. If they are needed, there will be no work at RRVA until their return.

Today, the subcontractor responsible for trenching arrived to cut, but not excavate Pines Drive in front of Clusters 3+4. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the lights at the “Guard House” will remain illuminated since neither Verizon or MTC draws power from that line.

Treatment of RRVA Employees

Recently, at our community Town Hall, I shared that our staff have been subjected to inappropriate behavior from a few homeowners. Unfortunately it has come to our attention that there been other incidents this past week in which a couple of homeowners acted out and were harassing our staff. These homeowners have and will be addressed individually, but I feel it necessary to remind everyone that our team has been advised to walk away from homeowners who are yelling, verbally and/or physically making them feel uncomfortable or behaving erratically. If they feel physically threatened they are encouraged to call the police.

If homeowners have questions or concerns, the appropriate action is to send an email to the RRVA Board of Directors through the office email: office@roxburyrunvillage.com Our staff are working hard for RRVA and should not have to endure this type of treatment.

Thank you.
