Tree Work

In preparation for the winter snow and ice, the maintenance crew has been inspecting trees all around RRVA. In particular, one tree next to the Jodi Macklin playground had conspicuously few leaves this summer. And recently, wildlife pried open the trunk. Upon inspection, this tree and others next to were found to be in very poor health, and were cut down. This will obviously change the appearance of a high-visibility area at RRVA, and will be addressed.

According to the arborist on our crew, the center portion was as soft as butter, and the with the right wind, the tree would have collapsed. While we are saddened to lose these Billberey trees to old age, we are relieved they were taken down safely.
